The GEL-Nimbus® VIII is Asics' flagship cushioning shoe; it is designed to provide exceptional platform comfort and stability for gaits ranging from underpronators to mild overpronators. This season the GEL-Nimbus® VIII improves on the best features from the past two versions while incorporating ASICS latest technical advancements; Solyte™ midsole material, Spacemaster® mesh upper and Gender Specific Fit.
Upper
A Spacemaster® mesh upper. Spacemaster® is one of the most advanced mesh materials available. In addition to its moisture wicking and UV protective qualities, Spacemaster® is lighter, softer and more durable than other high-end mesh materials. The Biomorphic Fit™ upper provides a superior fit and function that allows the upper to stretch in high tension areas. This stretching minimizes compression and irritation of the foot resulting in a comfortable more efficient ride. The PHF™ memory foam molds to the athlete's heel creating a personalized heel fit. ComforDry™ Sockliner keeps feet dry and comfortable. Reflectivity for safety. Solyte™ 45 lasting for lightweight cushioning and durability.
Sole
Space Trusstic System™ an advanced system that creates a pocket which allows greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Solyte™ Midsole Material for enhanced bounce back during the propulsion phase and midsole durability. Solyte™ midsole material is neither EVA nor PU, but a proprietary, advanced co-polymer compound that is lightweight, durable, responsive, and comfortable. In fact, Solyte™ is lighter than ASICS current light SpEVA®, yet exceeds ASICS highest standards for tear strength, compression, shock attenuation and energy return. The unique outsole features a forefoot of AHAR®, DuoSole® and DuraSponge® for flexibility, cushioning and durability. The heel has an AHAR® plug for durability. The Visible Rear Foot GEL® Cushioning system in the heel and the Visible Fore Foot Twist GEL® provides superb cushioning. The Space Trusstic System™ is an advanced concept of creating a pocket between the Trusstic System™ device and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function.
